Dr Shen is board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and dermatopathology. He received his medical degree from Shanghai Medical University, Shanghai, China, and holds a doctorate in biochemistry and molecular biology from the Chicago Medical School in North Chicago, Ill. Dr Shen completed his pathology residency training at the University of California School of Medicine, Los Angeles, where he was chief resident physician, a surgical pathology fellow, and a dermatopathology fellow. He was the winner of two NIH National Service Awards in tumor pathology and the College of American Pathologists Foundation’s Informatics Awards for three consecutive years. Previously, Dr Shen practiced as a general pathologist in the Southern California Permanente Medical Group, Anaheim, Calif.

Jian-Ping (John) Cai, MD

Dr Cai is board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and dermatopathology. He earned his medical degree from Zhejiang University School of Medicine, Hangzhou, People’s Republic of China. Dr Cai completed his dermatology residency training at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang Medical University and his anatomic and clinical pathology residency training at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, where he also completed a dermatopathology fellowship. Dr Cai has published several papers in the field of dermatopathology.

Dr Cheng is board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and dermatopathology. He earned his medical degree from Tongji Medical University in the People’s Republic of China. He completed a residency in internal medicine in the Laboratory of Liver Diseases and a fellowship in cardiology in the Laboratory of Cardiovascular Diseases at the Tongii University Hospital and Graduate School. He also completed a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology and a fellowship in dermatopathology at the University Hospitals of Cleveland and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Cleveland, Ohio. Prior to joining DIANON, Dr Cheng was a staff pathologist specializing in dermatopathology and anatomic pathology at AmeriPath Cleveland/Dermpath Diagnostics in Oakwood Village, Ohio.

Dr Dumas is board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and in dermatopathology. He received his medical degree from l’Université d’Aix-Marseille, France. He completed a residency in pathology and a fellowship in dermatopathology with Dr Robert Phelps at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. Before joining DIANON Systems, Dr Dumas was a staff pathologist with American Medical Laboratories in Virginia.

Dr Eng is board-certified in dermatopathology and anatomic and clinical pathology. He is a former scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and holds a master of science degree in microbiology. After obtaining his medical degree at the University of Tennessee, he completed a 5-year residency at the University of Texas-Houston. This was followed by a 2-year dermatopathology fellowship at the University of Texas-Southwestern under the direction of Dr Clay Cockerell. Dr Eng has published several papers in the field of dermatopathology. He has been in his current position since 2001.

Dr. Hughes is board-certified in dermatopathology, anatomic and clinical pathology, and medical management, and he is a Certified Physician Executive. He served as divisional medical director for LabCorp-Florida from August 2004 until January 2008, when he chose to concentrate on dermatopathology. Dr Hughes received his medical training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, and his residency training in anatomic and clinical pathology at Baylor University. He completed his dermatopathology fellowship at The Ohio State University. He is a fellow of the College of American Pathologists and the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and a diplomate of the American Board of Pathology.

Dr Huo is board-certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and dermatopathology. He received his medical degree from Henan Medical University in China and did further study in molecular and medical genetics before completing a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology in Ohio. He studied under Dr A. Bernard Ackerman in New York and completed his dermatopathology fellowship there in June, 2000. Dr Huo joined DIANON in August of 2006.

Dr Jiang is board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and dermatopathology. He earned his medical degree at Xi’an Medical University, Xi’an, People’s Republic of China, and his PhD in biochemistry at Rush Medical College, Chicago, Illinois. Dr Jiang holds medical licensure in the states of Tennessee and Missouri. He is a member of the College of American Pathologists, the American Society of Clinical Pathology, and the Tennessee Medical Association.

Dr Letts is a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and Pathology, board-certified in dermatopathology, and a diplomate of the American Board of Pathology, board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology. He received his medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Medicine. He completed residencies in laboratory medicine and anatomic pathology at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston. He also completed a fellowship in dermatopathology at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Dermatopathology Program. He is a fellow of the College of American Pathologists and the American Society of Clinical Pathology and a member of the American Medical Association. Dr Letts has coauthored articles on anatomic and clinical pathology and dermatopathology.

She received her medical degree from Beijing Medical University School of Public Health, Beijing, People’s Republic of China, and completed her residency training at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. She then completed a 1-year fellowship in the division of dermatopathology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Dr Li is a fellow of the College of American Pathology and a member of the American Society of Dermatopathology, the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, and the College of American Pathologists. She has authored articles of skin diseases and malignancy in several journals.

She completed a dermatology residency at the First Hospital of Beijing Medical University and a pathology residency at the Yale New Haven Hospital, Yale University, New Haven, Conn. Dr Yaghsezian is board certified in pathology and dermatopathology. He received his graduate medical education at the Yerevan State Medical Institute in Yerevan, Armenia. He completed residency training in internal medicine at Aleppo City Hospital, Aleppo, Syria, and residency training in pathology and laboratory medicine at Western Reserve Care System in Youngstown, Ohio. Dr. Binder is a renowned Dermatopathologist and an internationally known expert in skin diseases with a specialty in pigmented lesions and lymphoid lesions of the skin. He is also the founder and Director of one of the few Dermatopathology fellowship training programs in the state of California. Dr. Binder brings a wealth of clinical experience to diagnostic dermatopathology and his comprehensive consultative reports are widely sought.

Steve A. McClain, MD - Medical Director, Founder, Owner, McClain Laboratories, LLC

Dr McClain is a board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and dermatopathology. He received his medical degree from the University of Missouri. He completed residency training in anatomic and clinical pathology at the Medical Center of Vermont in Burlington and a dermatopathology fellowship at New York University in New York City. In addition to the practice of dermatopathology, Dr McClain’s interests include pathology informatics, imaging in pathology reports, and wound and burn healing. Prior to establishing McClain Laboratories, Dr McClain was director of the Division of Dermatopathology and director of Pathology Informatics in the Department of Pathology at Montefiore Medical Center in New York.
